Description:
A growing Topical Pharmaceutical Lab in Petaluma, CA seeks a detail oriented individual for a Formulation Chemist position. This team member will provide general support for the Formulation and Process Development Department. They will be the lead in set-up and preparation of laboratory and cGMP production work.
This individual will be in charge of specific routine or semi-routine laboratory and manufacturing operations with minimal supervision. Successful individuals will have the ability to identify problems during compounding and manufacturing and recommend solutions for these problems. They will set up and perform maintenance of formulation apparatus and manufacturing equipment. This individual will assist in oral and written communication with both external and/or internal customers in addition to developing written procedures for new tasks.
Qualifications/Experience:
At a minimum candidates will have an Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent with emphasis on technical and computer related courses and 2 years of industrial experience working in cGMP. Preferred candidates will have an AA degree with multiple technical courses in scientific disciplines such as physics, statistics, environmental sciences, etc. plus cGMP experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry in addition to experience with computerized inventory systems.
This individual must be able to effectively communicate with the Supervisor and team members. They must be willing to learn and follow directions while working independently and as a part of the team. The ability to work with computers (including Microsoft Word and Excel) and general laboratory instrumentation is also required.
Candidates may be required to move items weighing up to 50 pounds. They must have sufficient manual dexterity to perform laboratory and cGMP operation in a manner to provide precise and accurate results while working in a safe manner.
This is a full-time regular position offering a competitive salary and benefits package in a friendly work environment. Salary and grade level will be commensurate with experience and education level.
