Peak Bio is a newly created venture out of the San Francisco Bay Area that will soon reach a critical milestone in our history of going public on NASDAQ. We are seeking scientific and business talent at two of our critical sites that include our center of research excellence in Palo Alto, California and our G&A infrastructure in South Florida.

This is a full-time position based in our Palo Alto, California offices, and will initially report to the Head of Oncology.

This role will be critical in driving the future of our business, demonstrating the ability to work scientifically with a unique business model, working collaboratively amongst other talented scientists who utilize expertise, analytics, creativity and ingenuity to succeed, and applying advanced knowledge in antibody engineering.

 Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the identification of new therapeutic targets
• Implement new advances in antibody generation and recovery
• Design and engineer antibodies, bi-specifics and Fc proteins
• Establish in-house antibody design and generation capabilities
• Establish creative and efficient molecular cloning of antibody variable genes
• Perform molecular biology support functions such as DNA isolation, primer design, PCR, DNA preps and purifications
• Perform antibody sequence analysis
• Develop ELISAs for the detection of antibodies in culture supernatants, as well as ADC conjugations and analyzed conjugates by chromatography
• Present analytical analysis of for protein purity (size exclusion and reverse phase HPLC, isoelectric focusing, HIC)
• Manage database functions

Desired Abilities and Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Protein Engineering or related sciences.
• 1-5 years of industry experience, with advanced knowledge of antibody structure and function
• Working operational knowledge of standard equipment and software for protein and cell biology
• Molecular biology and recombinant DNA cloning skills
• Working knowledge of cell based assays and flow cytometry assays
• Excellent communication skills to cross functional teams
• Meticulous record keeping skills
• Ability to prioritize, particularly under tight deadlines
• Can succeed independently or as part of a collaborative team
• Experience with Biacore/ Octet, antibody drug conjugation, bispecific antibodies, and/or antibody discovery using single B-cell technology are all preferred
