Peak Bio is a newly created venture out of the San Francisco Bay Area, that will soon reach a critical milestone in our history of going public on NASDAQ.   We are seeking scientific and business talent at two of our critical sites that include our center of research excellence in Palo Alto, California and our G&A infrastructure in South Florida.   

Peak Bio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on commercializing innovative therapeutics that aim to improve and address significant unmet medical needs for patients with inflammatory, rare and specialty diseases and cancer. This is a full-time position based in our Palo Alto, California (preferred) or possibly remote with travel required for meetings, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

This Business Development executive will work closely with the CEO, COO and Executive Director of Oncology and other cross-functional professionals to lead the business development strategy for the company, identifying opportunities for partnership to fully realize the value of Peak Bio’s technology platforms.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive programs for strategic partnerships, business development and acquisition opportunities, primarily with biopharmaceutical companies
  • Find, evaluate, champion, and collaboratively bring to execution strategic business development opportunities to expand Peak Bio’s pipeline for our oncology discovery/research portfolio, and for our pre-clinical/clinical-stage programs currently focused on pulmonary and lung therapies
  • Prioritize opportunities, together with cross-functional stakeholders, including working closely with the scientific team to define and deliver key data packages to enable effect Business Development outreach
  • Manage the development of term sheets
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence
  • Liason and Alliance management work for critical partnerships
  • Lead presentation of prioritized business opportunities to the senior leadership
  • Contribute to overall company strategy
  • Represent our company in the broader ecosystem
  • Build high-level and science-focused presentation materials and manage external communication with potential partners
  • Manage Peak Bio’s external relationships including strategic alliances, research partnerships, licensees/licensors, research programs with institutions and other companies


Qualifications/Experience:

Desired Abilities and Qualifications

  • PhD, MS, PharmD or equivalent in biology, chemistry or other scientific field
  • 10+ years relevant business development industry experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup/public company environment
  • Knowledge of relevant scientific fields and industry landscape, especially oncology ADC development and small-molecule programs
  • Demonstrated experience with many different deal structures and partnership models
  • Established network across the biotech/biopharma industry, particularly within oncology therapeutics companies
  • A thorough understand of drug discover trends and current competitive landscapes
  • Interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  •  Business acumen
  • Collaborative skills
  • Organizational and operational professionalism
