Please follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Pharmatek An individual at the level of Scientist, Analytical Development and Preformulation will be expected to build and lead a team focused on preformulation and characterization of pharmaceutical drug candidates. Characterization techniques may include but are not limited to HPLC, UV spectroscopy, DSC, vapor sorption, XRPD and TGA. The candidate should have in depth knowledge of drug polymorphism, solubility, and physical characterization of drug substances. The individual will also oversee the internalization of early HPLC methods and support their phase appropriate evolution. In addition, the individual may be responsible overseeing development of assay, dissolution, water content, and physical characterization methods for oral and injectable drug products. The individual will assist in the researching and introduction of new analytical technology to characterize API and drug products. The candidate should have previous supervisory experience and is expected to supervise a group of up to 4 direct reports. A successful candidate will be independently proficient in a variety of analytical techniques and regulatory areas including, but not necessarily limited to: DSC, TGA, XRPD, vapor sorption, analytical balances, pH meters, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), UV/Vis spectroscopy, USP dissolution testing apparatus, and moisture analysis by Karl Fischer. Experience with validation of quality control methods is desired but not required. The individual will take a leadership role in communicating results both internally and externally through oral and written updates and formal reports as necessary. The individual may be required to assist in the creation and/or revision of company SOPs. Collaboration with Pharmaceutics and Quality Control groups is expected.

Qualifications/Experience:
Requires B.S. in life sciences, ideally Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Biology 10+ years’ experience in analytical development and preformulation Strong understanding of CMC requirements based on phase of drug development Thorough knowledge and experience in preformulation as well as HPLC techniques Strong oral and written communication Previous supervisory experience required
